27/2-5/3/08 Nelson Riddle Orchestra
The music of Nelson Riddle is legendary. His music set the mood for a generation and helped to make the careers of artists like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald... "COOL". He, of course also arranged the soundtracks of many Hollywood movies and was nominated for seven academy awards, winning twice. His movie scores included Can-Can, Robin & the Seven Hoods and The Great Gatsby.
His son Christopher Riddle now conducts and leads the orchestra in the same tradition and style set by his father, using all the original charts and arrangements to give you the most wonderful evening of music, the likes of which we most probably will never see created again.
Also featured in the show are the vocal talents of Bryan Anthony, who like Francis Albert, hails from New Jersey and managed to thrill UK audiences just like he's done STATESIDE.

The BPO conducted by Callum McLeod played a "Last night of the Proms" programme featuring Cortes and All Angels all performing in the open air splendour of Scone Palace, Perthshire.
As well as the usual Last Night hits the orchestra was joined in a stunning finale by a Pipe Band. |
